A favorite of new spinners and spinning teachers, Corriedale has a lovely hand, and it is easy to draft. Considered a medium wool, the Corriedale sheep is the result of breeding the Merino with longwool breeds to create a sheep that produces a large uniform fleece, good crimp, and good-sized staple length—merging some of the characteristics of fine and longwools. It is suitable for a wide range of projects including shawls, socks, sweaters, scarves, and other accessories.
Corriedale is a great fiber for needle and wet felting. We use this fiber in our Drop-spindle Kits. Louet's Corriedale comes in 23 colors.
