Louet North America knitting patterns were created internally by a dedicated team of pattern developers, or by renown designers from around the world. For years, the entire creative process was overseen by Trudy Van Stralen founder of Louet North America.
Knitting patterns created by and for Louet North America are designed with tremendous attention to detail. The design process is 6 to 9 months long, taking into account the latest trends in color and fashion.
After the creative ideas and sketches are put to paper, and swatches are prepared, the Louet North America design team charts the pattern in actual size to create the original test garment. Next we size all potential sizes for the knitting pattern and test knit each size to ensure that the pattern works well and fits as designed in all sizes.
This is a laborious process, but insures that the knitter will realize a quality, well-fitted garment, regardless of his / her size.
Unique stitch combinations are used for effect and allow garments made from Louet North America knitting patterns and yarns to be true treasures.
Louet North America pattern sheets have a great deal of detail, stitch images and finished garment shots presented in an easy-to-follow, well-designed layout.
Since Trudy's retirement in 2011, Louet North America is contracting with outside designers to create knitting patterns for our yarns. We release a new 10 pattern collection in the Spring and Fall of each year, covering a variety of styles and yarn lines. We continue to develop high quality knitting patterns in the tradition and style Trudy started it the late 1990's
Knitting patterns are new for Louet North America. We are working with Jane Stafford to create knitting patterns using Louet North America yarns. We are working on adding a pattern every month, so keep checking back or monitor our Facebook or Twitter feeds to be notified when new patterns arrive.
