Cast on 92 sts on size 5.0 mm (8) needles.
Row 1: *P2, k3, repeat from * ending with p2.
Row 2: *K2, p3, repeat from * ending with k2.
Repeat rows 1 & 2 for 2-21⁄2" ending with row 2.
Mock Cable Pattern
Change to size 6.0 mm (10) needles.
Row 1: *P2, sl 1, k2, psso, repeat from * ending with p2.
Row 2: *K2, p1, yo, p1, repeat from * ending with k2.
Row 3: *P2, k3, repeat from * ending with p2.
Row 4: *K2, p3, repeat from * ending with k2.
Repeat rows 1-4 for 7-71⁄2" ending with row 1.
Top Decreasing
Row 1: *K2, p2, repeat from *.
Row 2: *P2tog, k2tog, repeat from *.
Row 3: *K1, p1, repeat from *.
Row 4: *K2tog, repeat from *, k1.
Row 5: Purl all sts.
Row 6: *K2tog, repeat from *.
Finishing
Cut yarn with a long tail. Thread through all sts on needle and pull firmly. Sew side seam.
