Louet North America offers 31 wool fibers from different breeds or natural colors. From very fine 18 micron merino to coarser fibers. Our expertise started more than 25 years ago when Jan and Trudy Van Stralen owned a flock of over 100 sheep. We were among the first in North America to import the Coopworth breed. Today, our coopworth fiber is imported from New Zealand and is a popular choice for teaching beginning spinning classes.

  Coopworth Roving
LNA’s original fiber, Coopworth is the fiber we started with in the early 90’s. In the past we had a flock of Coopworth sheep, in fact, we imported the first coopworth sheep into Canada in the early 1980’s. Now our fiber is grown in New Zealand, and we purchase straight from the farm. A 33 micron fiber. It is available in white, light, medium, dark and brown.
